Yes I was told that causes problems due to SATA 6Gbps signal issues. Even some early 2011 MBPs are having issues with the drive running at 6Gbps in the drive bay for HDD0.
I don't use the optical drive much really and I suppose if I needed it I could attach to another device on the LAN that has one or plug a USB drive in, etc.
Surprised they didn't build a card reader in instead of having a cardbus slot.
I'm not complaining though. The (consultant) has had my SR-2 now for over six months and said he would send me a mbp to play with. There were two (!) in the box along with some other goodies. He gave me the hardware to keep for my troubles. :awe:
Haha I have some pictures somewhere of a computer that really took a beating. I mean imagine putting a fully running modern day PC in a large commercial dryer and setting it on tumble for two days. This would be AFTER it was put in the front loading washer, using only seawater for "washing".
The LGA CPU actually (was the only part!) that survived!
