I'd really like to have... I guess have the MP3 controlled through the navigation screen (which is how the 2007+ cars do it), so I could see what song is playing.

Since I go to school in a shitty city, I don't want to be setting anything up that is easily visible from the outside.

Actually, that reminds me of a problem.

My Grand Prix had a dark colored headliner, with significant recess from the windows. I could hide the V1 up there, hanging off a visor, and it was almost invisible, you only found it if you were looking deliberately for something to be hanging there.

The G has a light colored headliner, and with much less recess, meaning the V1 will be partially exposed there, which is a bad thing.

lmao. You said easy and android in the same sentence

Of course.

Let's imagine a G37x (really, any car) with an Android based OS for a touch screen center control.

Then you have a program to handle navigation, another program to handle music, and another program to run a driver information center.

Now I want to add a V1 concealed display to it. Okay, no problem, root the Android OS, add another program, bam, done.

wait why do you want to hide it?

So I'd rather it be concealed. I wonder if I can wrap the sides and bottom of the unit in a light colored cloth to blend in better. Can't hide the sensors fore and aft obviously though.

The most common mount for these cars is actually hanging from the mirror, but that's way too visible for me. The visor isn't in a great place for it though, and it's way too thick for the clip.

Honestly, buy a Garmin. It'll cost you a fifth of the money, and it will flat out be a better navigation system, by far. That you can't watch DVD's on it is irrelevant.

Yeah I have a garmin already. Another reason I didn't buy one.

Uh, hide the V1 so when I'm parked nobody goes by, goes "LOOK SHINY", smashes a window, and swipes it?

Oh. Wrap it like you said and get your windows tinted

I also need to patch a wire into the rearview mirror to run the V1... oh shit, I don't know how to set up the concealed display with that. I don't think it's possible. Anyway, there's no way to get the normal power cord up, the A pillars are sealed.

Uh... concealed display... it's really weird how it works.

V1 ----- lighter adapter ----- CD

Almost like it's in parallel, with no direct connection between V1 and display.

still should have the windows tinted

MA law says 35% all around maximum, and I think it'll look a lot better to have all the tint levels matching.

I want to, but I have higher priorities for $200 of mods, and I suspect dad will (again) disapprove.

Same deal here. 35 all around
