fucking people... I already gave you a path that requires minimum change, just encode the url into the target QR Code... but no we have to think of new processes... why?

Jesus... Arguing if QR Code should be dynamically generated....
Earlier this week I was in a store that did just that. The point of sale system would generate a QR code and the employee would scan it with their phone and then take a picture of the serial number section on the product box to associate the product with the sale ticket. I guess someone thought that would be easier/cheaper than installing a camera on the point of sale system.

I was just thinking, I wonder if there will be a time where retail stores just stop existing completely and go online-only and we actually look back at them the same way we look back at video rental stores. I kinda miss them, but at same time I don't think I'd actually use them much either if they existed. Times just change.

Our Staples just closed down, which was kind of a shock but at same time not that surprising. Any time I went it always brought back memories of when I used to go with my mom to get school supplies. I remember when it first opened and it had a "new building smell". That smell always stayed and was there even the last time I went. It was almost like a signature smell for that store. It's oddly kinda sad knowing the store is closed now, but at same time it's not like I actually did go all that often and I can just order online anyway. Anytime I did go there was maybe like 10 people there at most. Taxes on that building are probably like 80k per year. Margins are very low in retail so it's a miracle they even make enough to pay all the bills for a big building like that.
