It's funny all the goobers on this board saying to wait until PCIe 5.0 and DDR5. My last workstation just died at 7 years. I think I'll be fine with this for quite sometime. Of course, there's always other tech projects.
Lol yeah if you wait for some new thing to come out you'll never build. There's always something new.
Right now it's hard getting most hardware because of the chip shortage, so you get what you can. I'm sure anything new coming out is going to be greatly delayed anyway. Just look at the GPUs like the 3080 etc. They've been out for close to a year now? But it's impossible to get one.
I'm watching videos on RAM and they are saying exactly what I researched before buying the RAM. The DDR4 3200 CL14 is hard to find. When it was originally made it was expensive And another video said that Zen 3 (Ryzen 5000 series) CPUs ran better with 4 sticks vs 2 sticks of RAM. While there is faster RAM out there, I'm going for quick and stability. I believe that DDR4 3200 CL14 runs about the same (performance-wise) as DDR4 3600 CL16.
So tired of eating just soup, I can't wait to get to a point where I can eat solid foods again. I'm starting to be all dizzy now, I think it's partially from the meds but also lack of proper food. Going to do a protein shake and see if it helps.
Gave away my late wife's computer desk and chair today. Friend with pick up helped me move them to Irving. Then we had lunch and some beers afterwards. Was nice making room in my home and hanging out with my friend.
