My father has been convinced, finally, to let me put more lighting in my room. Now we just have to negotiate out a mounting method. I want it on the ceiling, he doesn't want holes in the ceiling. Also, there's a wiring question.

But ultimately, I'll end up with 2x32W T8, or 4x32W T8, all in four foot lengths. Enough light to finally overpower the monitor and relieve a lot of eyestrain.

Cover looks fine, but I won't know for sure until the brother gets over here to help me lift it back into place (I didn't realize how fucking heavy they were). Regardless, below any deductible I would have. If it is just the lifter, $300 tops.

Could not believe the sound -- I was upstairs in my Man Cave and ran downstairs because I thought the roof was coming off.

Looks like the lifter is $150. I'll have to see the damage and if the cover is fine (it should be), that should be the only expense. I need to find the invoice to confirm the part. I think I can probably install it myself with some help.

Seriously my thing in hs for first dates was pizza shop near the lake to pick up calzones then drive up to a spot on the lake where no one ever went to. Then on the way back pick up cannolis and sit on the dam over looking the lake.
