The data portion of my file server project continues. Moved/Backed up the cartoons and a couple of Super Bowls. Just realized that I need to rework the titles to disc images in my video music folder on the file server before I can put the new stuff that already has been worked on. Lots of tedious work. Not much fun there.

Also, copied all the data from the 1.5TB "Other Video" drive to a couple of 2TB drives. One will become the new "Other Video" drive in the file server and the other will become the backup. That should hold me over until I can build the home server that I've been talking about. I'm ready to stop working on the data and get back to the hardware. Just not a lot of time after work.

I was thinking the other day I need to start upgrading my storage, basically just add more drives. But after my UPS incident I think I need to put all my money into power. Need rectifiers and inverters, and while I'm at it may as well get a new battery bank. $$$ though. But if I build it properly, it will basically be a partial solar setup, all I need after is the actual solar panels and charge controller. Even debating on using money from my company shares... I can take some of that money out in 2018.

Think I'm going to hold off for now though, I will put more effort into learning electronics so I can build my own rectifiers/inverters.

It's always about money.

Close up of credit card chip because why not. :p (had an old card so broke it apart to get to the actual chip)

I don't have an actual microscope so that's as close as I can get, but it's kinda neat as you can see the actual die and the bonding wires. I would guess the rectangular part on the bottom left is probably some kind of flash memory.
