The C64 would've had better graphics and sounds, but I do appreciate that video. The sounds are definitely Atari 2600 caliber and the graphics are probably just a little beyond the 2600 -- maybe Vic 20 level.![]()
I miss dial-up BBS systems. I know many are now on the intenet and you can telnet to them, but I miss the good old days of dialing up the local BBS and reading/posting to FidoNet.
My A3000 is almost done. I put in a SCSI card reader and will be transitioning the hard drive to CF cards. After that, I need a new project -- maybe an A1000 or A4000.![]()
You make me feel young
Thanks![]()
This is one area I pity the young people on. The old days of computing and the 80s were awesome.
Better than nowadays? I don't miss Win 3.1 and 95 buginess or my slow ass connection at all.
I'm talking about systems before that. Back when you had lots of choices -- Commodore, Atari, etc. It was much more interesting and fun back then.

I didn't even have a PC compatible until 92 or 93, and I shared it with my brother while in school. I didn't build my own PC until 95. Before that, it was all Commodore.
So it was better before then, then things got worse, then better again?
The early versions of Windows were awful, so I'd say you're probably right. Although, even in the the mid to late 90s, there were some awesome PC games.

This customer tried to pay in counterfeit. I responded, "We don't accept Monopoly money here."
He looked like he was about to shit bricks then forked over a real $20 & jetted out the door.
My first computer was a P4. I was pretty late to the party.
I stayed in DOS until the bitter end. 3.x was the 1st windows installed, & only because of the many delays for W95.
