Are you talking about a cleaning or root planing? I'm pretty sure a root planing is substantially more.

No. The dental college gives pretty heavy discounts to students. Normal cleaning they do it for free.. as the students need guinea pigs to work on(supervised by a dentists of course). I am pretty sure.. deep cleaning is $65.

Wow, that's a great deal if you need it.

ICF.. next time you need to spend $1k on anything health related(non-emergency).. take a 2-3 week vacation and go to a developing country.

You can have a nice vacation and get some misc stuff done. You can visit.. Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, India, Bangladesh, South Africa, etc..

Agreed. If it's sold they should update their listing saying so. Or PM you back saying so.

If this guy eventually responds, I'm not so sure I want to go through with the deal because it seems he disappeared the first time he posted this for a couple of weeks.

I think the quality of the work and safety standards very a lot across those countries though. Would want to do a fair amount of research before doing this.

Don't bother.. just lie to him that you already purchased the said item from a different seller/website.

Red flag that there might potentially be other problems with the transaction down the road?

Aside from my now jobless position and other life problems. At least I'm no longer extremely anxious all the time. :p

I don't know -- he allegedly has an Amiga 3000 in mint condition with extras. I PMed him asking him if he had pictures and if he had removed the battery from the motherboard. That was early yesterday morning and he has been to the site since then but did not respond.

Yeah.. you should do some research, but I am pretty sure there are hospitals/clinics that conform to international standards. For example, I had my eyes tested in a very decent hospital in a posh locality. It just cost me $4 for the test. Dental is extremely cheap.. it costs $10-$15 to fill a cavity.

Do you guys download music still? If so what sources do you use? I've got some good torrent sources for TV shows but nothing for music.

Even medicines are pretty cheap too. I once read an article in techcrunch where they interviewed a guy who runs a company that ships medicines to the US from India at 80% discount(IIRC). An American and an Indian started that venture.. let me dig up that link.

Oh I don't doubt you can have good work done for cheap. The education standards for medical school overseas is also much higher than people in the US like to think. Many doctors have difficulty getting into the US and Canadian systems cause they find they need to be recertified by a system that doesn't work with their foreign degrees (some of this is understandable but some of it is paranoia and maybe even a little racism). It's not unusual for them to find that they were trained just as well if not better overseas. BUT you have to be careful also to avoid this kind of dental visit ;):

I saw some pretty shady looking medical businesses when in China.

right... all the heavy metal in it is good for you.

Heavy metal is good. Real heavy metal not the crap these kids listen to today.

People think they are doing the right thing by dropping off their unwanted electronics to so called "recycling centers". The stuff is sent overseas to the far east where it is "processed" by slave child labor with no regulations on personal protection, safety, etc. D:
