Contrast!

Corvette LS3 has around 370 RWHP, and weighs around 3200 pounds. That puts out 8.6 pounds per HP.

So sports car territory is below 10 pounds per HP I guess. Luxury cars fill into the 10-16 pounds per HP range. Entry-level badge vehicles and lively econoboxes go 16-22. Beyond 22 is pure econobox territory.

Caveat: rough estimates.

So a Z06 is at 7.4. That's what, a $75000 car.

You can build a used Miata with an LS2 and get about 345 HP, which gives you the same 7.4 pounds per HP, for about $25000, give or take a few thousand.

A G37x has about 255 AWHP, maybe a little better, with a weight similar to my G35x, around 3400 pounds. That puts it to 13.3 pounds per HP, definitely a bit improved.

GT-R weighs 3800 pounds (wow, that's heavy), with 430 AWHP (2012). 8.8 pounds per HP.

Yet the GT-R is a supercar - a function, in large part, of the AWD system.

ZR1 is 3350.

That actually probably puts the Z06 and base models in the 3350 range, which will throw their lb/HP ratios higher. Anyways... 530 RWHP. 6.3 pounds per HP.
