omg teh noes! my arm fell off in a freak bandsaw accident, what should I do? Should I just wait, maybe the pain will just go away on it's own?

just kiddin....sorry i couldn't resist....ok the real question, seriously now

I was in the pharmacy and saw ethyl alcohol, what's the difference between that and Isopropyl? they were both 70% I guess I shoulda asked the pharmacist but they looked busy so I didn't want to bug them and it was like 4:30pm I'm sure they don't want to be bugged with stupid questions while they're finishing up.

So anyway, what's the difference and what is ethyl used for?

ethanol (ethyl alcohol)a colorless volatile flammable liquid C2H5OH that is the intoxicating agent in liquors and is also used as a solvent -- called also ethyl alcohol, grain alcohol

isopropyl alcohol - a volatile flammable alcohol C3H8O used especially as a solvent and rubbing alcohol

Well, isopropyl alcohol is toxic, so you can't drink it.

THe ethyl alcohol is in theory drinkable, but in practice not since they "denature" it. That means they add poisons to it. Why? So you can't evade liquor taxes.

For it's intended purpose they are equivalent
