here's the story: I have 2 peices of pencil lead in my hands, one in my left, and one in my right hand.
Left Hand Story: I dropped a newly sharpened pencil about 7 years ago, tried to catch it using my cat-like reflexes, ended up with the pencil standing erect from the center of my palm, pulled pencil out, couldn't get the lead out that broke off from the pencil. I can still see it through my skin.

Right hand story: A year later, I was talking on phone and drawing with a newly sharpened pencil. Dropped the pencil, tried to catch it using my right hand. Pencil went right through the bottom-left part of my palm. Lead broke off, I can still see the lead in my hand.

I always thought I was fine until earlier today I started feeling pain right where the pieces of lead are. Will I most likely be ok? Anyone have similar experiences?

You will die very soon.

Pencil lead is graphite so you sould be ok...I've done it before and they've disappeared or I've forgotten where they are...

I had a piece of glass stuck in my hand for 6 years. I got it out about a year ago - and I'm still alive.

My dad had a bit of led in his left arm for over 45 years. You'll be fine. He got it removed a few months ago, and the doctor just cut open the dark scarred area and actually removed the piece of pencil that had been in there the whole time. insane.

Hahahaha.

How bizarre that everyone has the same experience. ;-)

I was in the 6th grade, some friends and I were horsing around on the couch... little did I realize that I had a pencil in my pocket... lol... somebody shoved me and the pencil lead went right into my leg.

And yes, 15 years later... it's still there. I had actually completely forgotten about it until I saw this thread.

I have a pencil mark on my leg that I got when I was in the 7th grade, which was about 15 years ago. The pencil was sticking out of my backpack and as I was walking, it stabbed my shin. I guess you could say that was my first tattoo!

I have a piece of pencil lead in my right wrist. Been there since 7th grade.

I'm not dead... yet and I'm now 31.

I actually somehow stabbed my toe with a pencil by walking into it a long time ago and a little piece of graphite broke off. I forgot about it and sure enough, I can still see it in there.

All of use should start a club. The number of people with pencil related stabbings on this board is remarkable.

That's crazy... I thought your skin renewed itself every however many years?

I wonder why it didn't eventually work its way to the surface...

Cut it open and extract it. Then boil away the liquid and the salve left over can be used to treat snake bites.

My dad, God rest his soul, had a pencil lead in his hand for over 60 years. Don't worry mate. Although he did get skin cancer on his legs.
