Here's a little something i've done before, and it's always turned up something useful:

List the Online Resources you use

1. give the address
2. describe what it does
3. tell us why its good

feel free to omit the bleeding obvious (i.e Wikipedia, Google, Hotmail); avoid those which have no real use outside entertainment (The Oatmeal, The Chive, etc..)including sports if as spectator, and try if possible to list the best of the bunch if multiple similar resources exist.

If they are specific to a country put it next to the name (UK)

everything can go here; online calculators, industrial supplies, phonebooks, databases, scientific material,

I only have one that isn't super common, but is still pretty common. DuckDuckGo. With the added tools, it covers most of what I need from specialized programs.

Quora: A question-and-answer site where questions and answers to them are submitted by users/the community. There tends to be quite a bit of knowledgeable people and professionals/experts here so you can find a lot better information than a typical Internet forum that's filled with trolls, idiots, and people who think they're experts. That doesn't mean there's no bullshit at Quora, but in general I think it's quite good.

TalkTo: Send questions to businesses with this website (I thought they had an app too but I can't find it for Android) via text, instead of calling and talking to them, and receive the answer on the website or via text message. Pretty neat; I've used it a couple times before and it works well. You can contact a business and ask for their store hours, whether or not they have some particular item in stock, make reservations, etc.

Its a community dedicated to helping fix shit. Lots of step by step guides, lots of pictures and you can ask questions.

I like the community there. There are tons of people who actually know what they are talking about that lurk. I've been known to ask and answer questions there. Its a great resource.

Helps me determine who hosts a mail server and whether-or-not it's blacklisted. In Chrome, you can create a custom "search" engine, so I set one so I can type "mx[space or tab][whatever domain name or IP address]" into my omnibar and it takes me right to my result.

IEEE assignes the "organizationally unique identifier" (first 6 digits of a MAC address) to each manufacturer of network devices. When doing remote troubleshooting of network issues, it helps to figure out which devices are visible on the network. If I see a Cisco/Linksys/Belkin/D-Link/Netgear MAC, I can be pretty sure the user has their device connected to the correct port on their router.
