CENTRAL POINT, Ore. -- The wedding at the Twin Creeks retirement community in Central Point on Tuesday afternoon only took a week to plan.

It was a quick ceremony, but the couple’s love story took a lifetime to begin.

“I’m 92,” said bride Joan Williams.

“And I’m 89,” said groom Robert Lafoya.

“I’m a cougar,” Williams said, laughing.

Williams and Lafoya met five years ago at another retirement community in Medford.

Immediately they said they hit it off. They both enjoyed the same activities, like Bingo.

“I use to see her when we were eating and I use to say – that’s a beautiful looking woman,” Lafoya said.

They decided to get married because they felt like they needed each other.

Grats to them both . . . but I don't think you understand the definition of cougar.
