its less than $100 bucks in Connecticut to incorporate and you can download the form online off the ct government website. Which I have at hand if necessary.

Probably want to file in Delaware instead. Also, factor in some lawyer $ for partnership agreement, how to split shares, etc... Last time I did it was about $1500.

I think the idea is to get a lawyer from here that will be willing to give there time in excahnge for company shares or something. The idea being make this as cheap as possible to initiate.

So that's the first hurdle. Who wants to be the freebie lawyer? [/quote]

All PM's are replied to::

First let me get this out: People will be included in this project by what they have to offer. This is not "ME" requesting the help of AT. This project will be owned by the group, and everyone will have as much veto power as the next until we work out the specifics of partnership. I feel that this group of people (Anandtech) goes wasted, we as a whole are very bright individuals and it is time for us to cash in.

I personally consider myself an Idea man, with a background in Business and IT. I am not a project manager. :) (which we will need)

If anyone has any ideas on how to bring people in fairly, please discuss that here. Should it be an open (by invite) group where we can weed people out? I personally will not share any of my ideas without a non disclosure and a limited motivated group.

Right now this is an open discussion, please let me know your ideas on how to get it started..

JUST MAKE SURE TO KEEP YOUR PRODUCT IDEAS SECRET AS OF NOW --There will be a chance to bring them up later.

How do you feel about a WASTE connection for brainstorming session rather than forums?

Keeping my opinions as to whether I think this will make it off the ground aside, you can "count me in" for now.

Firmware/Software Engineer with proficiency in many computer languages, some FPGA/CPLD design, and general hardware design. I also have a friend with similar background who'd be willing to help out.

I'm up for it. I have always wanted to start a private venture, but lacked the manpower and experience to get it off the ground. Count me in!

I have a number of very successful startups in my past and have raised over 55 million in venture capital.

Rule #1, NDA's are worthless.

Rule #2, working with many people is like herding cats, nevermind a group loosely affiliated like folks here. It's going to be a huge challenge and will end badly for many.

Having said that if you need some basic advice feel free to message me. :)

Seems interesting.

I am in government relations myself - I know alot about state and federal level contracts, and who to contact when.

I think we should make beer in cans with extra pull tab at the bottom for easier shotgunning. :)

I can do web dev, graphics, art, and the beer testing.

Think of a domain and register it, I'll host it - we can have it online as soon as tomorrow morning.

Depends.

Convenience - ATOT Private Topic forum

We should use the domains own forums though and make them private (registered members only)

I can around 10GB per month bandwidth for free then it's going to cost.

The domain name is inventive (hehe get it?) but it just doesn't flow or isn't ground breaking...

I like your i-hacked and playerline, any other ideas along those lines?

The biggest mistake you can make is choosing a name is making it anything other than ambiguous, particularly when you're not even aware of what you do yet. ;)

Just do something simple like atotinc.com or something like that.

I can be the corporate Historian/writer. I will chronicle the company's beginnings and the events that take place in the development of our product. This will be important because this whole deal has the chance to be very groundbreaking in the business world. I will capture the drama, the excitement, and ultimate triumph of our company. When our 15 minutes of fame are upon us, I will be prepared for us to cash in on it with a book, magazine articles, etc. which will perhaps lead to a made for tv movie. Our exploits will live through the ages!
