My extremely talented friend and his band have just put out their second CD, and it's time for them to have an internet presence. Currently it's next to impossible to buy their stuff anywhere besides the central Gulf Coast.

What they need is:

-To get their domain registered
-Webspace
-Site design
-Someone to update their page as needed
-Possibly some way to order their CDs

They'd like to have 4 or 5 MP3s on the site, with updates about where they're perfroming, etc. Can anyone here do this, or can you recommend a good company?

They also need a price quote, even a rough estimate.

Thanks a bunch.

This is going to definitely cost a good amount of money unless you get some charitable person to do it for free. Most of the stuff is not hard at all. The only time consuming thing is the maitanance. PM me if you want help with a solution.

Rossman can probably help out, but namecheap is what I use for registering the domain, as for the actual host for the site, I might be able to give that for free depending on a few factors. Once they get a design and I talk with a few people, I could possibly host it for free.

They have no qualms about paying. They've made it clear that this group is their life. The site needs to be permanent. Any suggestions are welcome, and ballpark figures are good. I told my friend that I'd try and have some rough estimates of the cost and the time-frame we're looking at before their site goes live.

Domain, hosting, etc. is easy. Constructing the site from scratch is the hard part.

Yeah, they need the whole lot.

I'm more of a text-based website person, and they want a professional site, so I'm not the person for it.

Hosting??? Who needs hosting? :)

I'm interested in hosting the site for next to nothing.

PM me if interested.

Here's someone who may be able to help you out...good friend of mine: Design page

As far as I know she would be able to cover everything you need including hosting...but get in touch with her and ask.

Edit: Tell her Kenton sent you :)

I've just setup a few postnuke sites. that seems like it would work for you. theres a module called postcalendar that works well for dates. the hard part like amdskip and rossman say is designing the site. With postnuke unless they wanted a big change they could keep it updated themselves.
