I'd say get a saiga instead.
K-Var is a US made conversion of a Russian Saiga. Best of both worlds.

Yes, you can mess up a shotgun. I've read of several cases where new 870 express models fail to eject shells and have similar problems. My coworker bought one and guess what - the first time we went to the trap range he had problems about every 10 shells. It seems to be a problem mostly with Winchester brand shells, but other guns never had problems with those shells.
If you want a cheap shotgun, get a mossberg. $200 (not on sale) at Wal-Mart.
Learn something new everyday. No need for more us parts then for a conversion?
Its the shells not the gun. Those cheapo white-box winchester target load shells are complete SHIT. They fail to eject out of my Winchester Model 12. They fail to eject out of my buddies Benelli Nova. They fail to eject out of my other friends Wingmaster.
There is nothing wrong with the 870, trust me.
this. my mossberg wont eject the cheap bulk winchesters you buy at walmart. havent had any problem with federal or remington ammo.
Unless it's just awful ammo (which I wouldn't consider WWB to be) I'd look at your shotgun. A quality pump action shotgun, unless you're using 3" rounds in a 2 3/4 chamber (in which case you've got much larger issues than FTE's) should eject most major brands of ammo with ease. It's one of the reason I feed my AR's the cheap Russian steel case stuff, if it doesn't shoot the worst out there I don't want it.
Maybe I'm wrong though, I've never shot Winchester's shotgun ammo.

Can't see his pic but the .45 isn't a particularly violent round, I'd call it milder than .40 S&W in recoil. Even with the short barrel you'll be fine.
If you're looking at AK's check out K-Var, probably the cleanest AK's you'll find. My only gripe is that they don't do wood furniture. Arsenal used to be good but I've heard their quality has dropped a bit. No first hand experience though. Honestly with AK's you're mostly paying $$ for something that looks pretty, not really for accuracy or reliability.
Oh give him a break. Carbine, Assault Rifle, we all know what he means (unless he is planning on dropping $20K or so for an authentic full auto AK).
My two main kimbers, my eclipse an 10mm auto (a real mans caliber), and my covert II in .45 both shoot like a dream. I really want to pick up a Raptor one of these days as well.

A walk-in closet full + two gun cabinets full, waaaay too many to list. Most of them hand me downs from my 85yo Dad (WWII vet serious gun collector), when he passes away I'll be swimming in the damn things.
Everything from muzzle loaders to mid 1800's hex barrels to a matched set of old Winchester model 12's (410,20,16,12), matched set of Berretta auto shotties (16,20,12), deer rifles, deer rifles and more deer rifles. I think we have the complete set of modern Henry rimfire rifles including the semi rare 22mag. Handgun cals I have are 22lr, .380, 38/357mag, 25auto, 45, dad has more.
