ATOT Free NFL, College Pick'em and Fantasy leagues

Football season is almost here, yay!

pyonir and I get a bunch of free leagues up every year for ATOT on Yahoo and they are always tons 'o fun. You'll need a Yahoo account to play.

First we have the NFL pick'em league. Very simple: Who can predict which teams will win each week and prove their superior football knowledge? Great for NFL superfans and casual fans alike. If you miss picking a week (easier to do than you think!) you're pretty much screwed, but it won't affect other players if you stop playing some point, so there is no big commitment (same goes for the college and survival league):

Survival Football - You get to choose one team every week you think has the best chance of beating their opponent. If you make a bad choice, you get a strike. 3 strikes, and you're out! You can't pick the same team to win twice.

I'm going to create one more league at least...and it'll be like the 3 player bench league we had last year. We aren't going to renew the one from last year, because I'm going to create it this time (Fuster did last year).

I'll post when it's set up. If anyone is interested in it beforehand feel free to PM me your email and I'll send out invites once it's going (probably tonight or tomorrow).

The league consists of numerous starting positions and only allows 3 bench players to be kept. It's supposed to entice users to drop and pick up players often (especially when byes start). I will probably tweak the starting line up this year. I think it's a fun change. We can even include carries/receptions if you guys want. That can all be discussed.

Oof! No one wants to play this year. One of our Fantasy leagues drafts in 5 days. The other fantasy league drafts in 11 days. Both just have one slot left to fill.

I am looking for one more person for a 10 team NFL.com new league. It is comprised of people I have done FF with for a year or more and this is for fun.

The league will have 3 keepers and be 0.5 PPR. The keeper number was picked to try to keep people flowing back into the draft pool. Only two and three keepers were discussed. There is no penalty for keeping players. Rosters should be standard with two slots for injured reserve and passing TDs are five points. The league draft is on Tuesday August 26 @ 10PM CST.

9 last year, 7 this year. Maybe because it's against the spread? I dunno. I don't see the point of doing it unless it's against the spread...since Yahoo picks games with 30+ point spreads often. Spread picks make it more challenging IMO.

I'm more surprised that no one wants to try something new with FF and go in on the 3 player bench league. It's nice to have something different once in a while, but I guess there are only a few of us that feel that.

Just in case anyone checks here, the draft that was supposed to be tonight at 7pm Central is starting at 8:15PM Central. Yahoo decided to be stupid and all the drafts that were starting at 7pm were fucked up.

I couldn't change the time...they reset it automatically "for us".

Week 2 of the college pick'em as well...so if you still want to join, you can. We drop the 2 lowest scores...so really you have until week 3 and you can still get every week to count.
