Ok,
Some of you here on the Form know that I work with Inner City Kids in the Washington DC area. In fact I work at one of the most troubled schools in the district, Ballou Senior High School. I few months ago I choose to start giving back to the community. I started a computer club at the school to educate the kids about computers, computer programming and robotics. What I have found out is many of these kids are good kids just in a terrible environment with nothing to do. Hence the club was designed to help change that.
Now to the current issue at hand. Out of the 18 or so kids I mentor only one has a PC at home and its a 486DX2. I am trying to see if any generous ATOTers out there have any old P3 P4 type systems they would be willing to donate to the kids.(Hence the more time spent on the PC programming the less time spent on the streets etc) I have received two p4 laptops already from churches and family friends. Any help is appreciated and please pm if you have any questions or concerns. If you need this validated at any time I can put you in contact with either the school principal or the main teacher overseeing this program.
For those who are interested here is the competition the kids are going to compete in this year.
