i also think it is interesting that very few Senators have been elected President, where state Govenors have been very successful, especially in the 20th century at reaching the White House

I think the people most wrapped up in the whole how liberal Kerry is deal are conservatives, not moderates. Most people don't fit into neat little labels.

so the plan isn't to talk about Kerry's voting record in the senate so that these moderates don't know what Kerry stands for. gee i wonder if the Kerry campaign has thought of that 😉

I didn't say anything about not discussing his voting record. I just said the people who are most worried about "how liberal" he is, are not moderates.

i dunno, why didn't dukakis win?

maybe it is a red herring , but i think there are a lot of people in "fly over" country (as the media likes to call it) that don't think much of super rich northeastern politicians

anyway, i think the polls are showing a very tiny/shrinking "independent" or "undecided" vote this time , which is on what i base my opinion that the election will not be as close as last time. whether K or B wins, i am very sure it won't be a single state that decides the election

i think we'll know before midnight on Nov. 2 :clock:

my 18th birthday was too close to the election for me to register for an absentee ballot, so I didn't vote in 2000. if I'd been able to, though, I would have voted for Bush.

I'm going to vote for him in November, but it's despite the fact that I disagree with him on almost every major issue. I just think that 4 more years of Bush will, in the long run, be better for liberals than a 1-term president.

The poll is for VOTERS. There is a perfectly valid choice in the poll for you. It says "I'm too young to vote, or anything not covered above."

And the current status of the poll is:
