A friend of mine put together a short timeline/documentary about the history of Myspace.com. The video takes a look at critical look at the site and its origins. (e.g. Tom not being the sole founder/real startup company). For somoene who isn't a film student or professional it's actually not that bad... Anyway he's trying to get some eyeballs on it, so if anyone has a digg account feel free to vote on it!

I remember when MySpace first came during after the whole Friendster phenomenon...always thought it was very similar and fairly coincidental, so now at least I know it was an actual copy.

One comment I sympathize with:

"I couldn't finish it because of the music."

The music in Part 1 was just constant whistling. The music in Part 2 sucked, and was loud to the point of drowning out the narration.

There was something mentioned in Pt2 about an exclusive search agreement between Google and Myspace. Google + Myspace = sum total of all human knowledge?
