A contest held annually by Inc.com promoting businesses pushing innovated ideas. This years candidates primarily focuses on business models that work around the recession.
Of the hundreds of submissions around the nation my friend has made it to the semi's! Public voting will determine the top 5 finalist where they will then compete in SF for the 100k grand prize.
His company is called http://www.waybasics.com/ and focuses on using recycled paper as as building blocks for furniture. It's actually a pretty innovated idea, uses 99% recycled materials, no nails/hammering required because boards are joined via strong adhesive strips and as strong as particle boards.
here's a link to his design gallery http://www.waybasics.com/shop/design_gallery.php , very IKEA looking.
Vote here http://www.inc.com/newpreneur/vote.html and his name is Jimmy Chiang. You can vote everyday up until the 6th!
Thanks in advance and bumps would be appreciated.
