Edit: We Won! No more voting needed, but you can still vote for other project ideas on the site mentioned below :)

################################

Kitty Safe Haven No-Kill Shelter is working on getting the most votes from the public for a small ($5k) grant to build an outdoor containment area for rescued cats, who are currently indoors, in too small of a space. Even if you're not a cat-lover, maybe you know someone who is, and wouldn't mind forwarding this request for clicks on behalf of some special fur-people.

The way it works is you simply visit the page below, and vote for the project. You can do this once each day. You can also cast votes via cell phone using text message. You can vote with text every day *in addition to* voting online. We solicit the famous ATOT effect....

It's like a horse race but it goes on for a month. At the end, the top ten vote-getters for $5k, $25k, and $50k will win grants. Plus two from the $250k group. We are presently in 4th place in the $5k category, but the rank can change at any time, up OR down.

To vote online, go to:
http://www.refresheverything.com/kittysafehaven
To text: : Send 103497 to 73774 (P-E-P-S-I).

If you are not signed up on the site, just enter your email address (no spam fears, I joined months ago and have only gotten the one initial email), choose a password, check email and click link to confirm you're not a robot, then cast your vote. The cats will love you from afar!

P.S. I'd be glad to send daily reminders via PM or email to anyone who asks. I only ever remembered to vote for another project I was asked to help, when they sent me reminders.

ETA: Check farther down in thread for some kitty pics :)

What is meant by the above???

Usually people with very few posts are just looking to scam. It's just something funny that people say when posters such as yourself post what you did. You are clearly not a spammer/scammer though, so don't worry about it :)

Thanks for the info.

I have "very few posts" relative to many members, but that's only because I don't usually have much to say. I've been a member for quite a few years, though, and actually years longer than my profile shows, because once upon a time I lost my password and for some reason that I've long forgotten the mods couldn't reset it, so I made a new account (I was "SilkTurtle" before).

The cats are real enough, and several others have come to ATOT seeking votes for their projects listed at the same site. So I don't think there's any question of legitimacy in any aspect of my request. But if it wasn't legit, I can't imagine what the payoff might be.

You should edit the subject of the OP and say

"ATOT Effect Needed: Cat lovers unite"

Or something like that. Will get you more votes and views

Thanks muchly for the votes!

How are you guys posting these dog pics? I don't even see a rich text editor in the compose message window, and no way to upload attachments. Do I have to type in HTML or something?

Folks, we've moved up into the #10 spot, thanks to you! Please remember to keep voting every day, and you can do text in addition to online.

I am astonished to be on the verge of being able to make a dream come true for some very frustrated felines.

Voted. Can you do multiple votes per day using text? I could knock out a bunch quick using Google Voice.

I don't know how to answer you, lxskllr, because I don't own a cell phone. But I know from talking with other people who have voted in text message polls that usually you are unable to vote more than once from a single cell phone number. Maybe this deal is like that, only they reset it daily?
