The 2-year-old, approximately 55 pound male dog was discovered with burns to 60 percent of his body on a right-of-way near Sycamore and Apple streets on Thursday. The dog also suffered puncture wounds to his neck. He had been tied to a tree and smelled of gasoline when he was found, officials said.

Yeah, the article says he's getting 2 yrs in prison for this, if found guilty. Since he's already confessed...

the petition seems to be to recommend the maximum sentence. That being said, online petitions are useless

Why not just make it easy and tie him to a tree and set him on fire?
It's soo much faster, easier, and cheaper. Why is he getting jail time. This makes no sense to me.
It costs us so much to put this person in jail.
I will buy the gas and the lighter and even the rope and have it shipped there.

He will get out in a year with good behaviour and be back on the street with noone not familiar with him knowing what he did.

This is why I wish all feleony criminal records were public like they do with sex offenders. Want to know if your neighbor abuses animals, just type the name in .

an eye for an eye. Unfortunately we don't do that. It will cost us about $46,000 to 60,000 a year to maintain him in jail.

Yea, a damn shame. $5 in gas, free matches from inside the gas station and this problem is taken care of for good.

I won't sign. I certainly think this guy needs help and jail time is appropriate. However when people post PC BS like "What if it were a human child? Would justice be fully served to this monster? You bet it would. Dogs (or any other single animal) are no different than children" I'm not going to support people who actually think that.

2 years seems like plenty of time.
That said, I think anybody who's this cruel to animals has some obvious mental issues. He should also get regular mental psychotherapy sessions and possibly be medicated.

Absolutely sickening, I'd hope they throw the book at him and keep him behind bars as long as the law allows......

We should shove a bunch of sticks up his ass and light that on fire too..

Seriously, "an eye for an eye makes the whole world blind." I'm not a hippy and I hate liberals, but the death penalty is just too ironically hypocritical for me to fathom. This guy should be locked up. This guy should get gang raped in the showers, again and again. This guy probably is mentally deranged and should get help - not to pamper him but to keep him from escalating his insanity from animals to people. But let's stop it with this macho "kill them all and let God sort them out" crap. It's so 1980s bad action movie, we've grown past that, right?
