For the 10th anniversary of Kohls Department Store's charity called "Kohls Cares" they are giving away $500,000 (no typo) to 20 schools, totaling $10,000,000. The top 20 vote-getting schools each receive $500K.
I figure this is as good of a cause as any for the World-Famous "ATOT Effect". I don't have pictures of hot chicks to offer you like some of the recent ATOT Effect threads. But I can assure you that you are voting toward helping an incredible school geared toward teaching children at a higher level than the "baseline" that traditional public schools aim for. With a STRONG emphasis on the sciences and most importantly getting kids EXCITED to learn and EXCITED to continue their education.
The school is part of the Wauwatosa WI public school system but relies heavily on donations and fundraisers to supply the technology, field trips and extra educational items that go beyond the standard "allotments". Currently grades K-5th are taught, with multi-age classrooms (2 "grades" per room totaling 3 rooms). Over the course of the next several years the school is positioned to expand offering 2 sections of each grade, and HOPEFULLY expanding to offer middle school too.
If you would please vote for my children's' school, Tosa School of Health Science and Technology (TSHST), it would be greatly appreciated.
(Please, if you believe in quality educational facilities for children, and you don't mind pass along to other people you may know would be willing to vote or post on on your own Facebook page).
A brief synopsis of TSHST:
Mission Statement:
The Tosa School of Health Science and Technology will provide students optimum educational opportunities that exceed expected student standards through exposure to an integrated curriculum with an emphasis on health sciences and technology that stimulates their interest, channels their energies and develops their abilities. Successful implementation of science and technology across the curriculum in addition to resourceful community partnerships will maximize the ability to prepare our students for a society increasingly placing more reliance on technology and the sciences.
Vision Statement: The Tosa School of Health Science and Technology, by providing students with an environment rich in parental involvement, community participation and strategic educational partnerships coupled with innovative thinking and a broad, science based curriculum, will produce students who are academically and socially engaged and are well prepared to meet the challenges of the twenty-first century.
