So I was defrosting some pork chops in the microwave for like 8 mins. Afterwards I pulled them out to check on them, and one of the chops had a piece of plastic stuck on it from the grocery store container. Is it safe to eat, or should I throw it out?

not the foam tray, its the plastic absorbent pad thing that the meat sits on. or whatever it's purpose is

It's put there to absorb blood to keep the package looking nice. In the future, put it under running water so you can remove it and thaw. Just pull it off and stop defrosting things in the microwave.

i don't think i've ever used the microwave to defrost stuff. i just leave it out or let water flow over it.
Next time try filling the sink with tepid water and let the meat sit in it to defrost. Works just as fast and doesn't waste as much water.
