It just seems strange to me that you think that people should be allowed to keep secrets even when the "secret" is out in the public. Once someone does something obvious enough that others are able to figure out what they're doing, they didn't keep their secret well.

I'd say the OP's biggest problem is a wife who's got nothing better to do with her time than to peep out windows and spy on neighbors.
