Ok, here's what I have on hand:

flour tortillas
1 or 2 pounds ground beef
2 cans of "enchilada sauce"
shredded taco cheese
sour cream
onions
tomato

Is there a way for these ingredients to come together and form some sort of delicious Voltron character?

I was thinking I would do the following:
1. Brown ground beef
2. Spread liberal amounts of "enchilada sauce" inside tortilla
3. Throw in beef, onions, tomatoes
4. Add any spices i feel would compliment the meal
5. Line up rolled tortillas in pan, pour rest of enchilada sauce on, top with cheese
6. I have no idea how long or what temperature to bake at

Any help would be appreciated!

next time you can also look into adding olives if you like em. a friend of mine uses lean ground turkey instead of ground beef since it's a bit healthier and i personally can't tell the difference

spray a tiny bit of PAM cooking spray on bottom of pan and spread it/wipe it around evenly with a paper towel

EDIT: if you dont your ****** will burn/stick to the pan like crazy.

well that was quick!

I don't think I have pam, but I'll use some butter on the pan.

I do have some black olives, that sounds good so I'll throw them in the mix as well.

So 400 for 10 min sounds good?

Thanks!

once the beef is cooked all you're really doing is melting the cheese. so put it in the oven until the cheese is nice and melty.

don't use butter. do you have any vegetable oil? just pour a little of that in there.

I read a recipe that had you pour some sauce in a pan and dip both sides of the tortillas in the sauce before assembly. I'm going to try that next time I make them. I think chicken enchiladas are better, but ground beef is good too.

Damn, maybe I'll make enchiladas for dinner. I have almost everything in the house to make them.

Edit: I know a lot of people make them with flour tortillas, but corn tortillas are the ones you're supposed to use, no? I've used both, but read that they're traditionally supposed to be corn.

You might get a New Mexico vs. the rest of the world on what enchilada's are supposed to look like.

Sounds like the recipe I linked earlier in the thread.

I think I'll make some tomorrow.

After browning the meat & veggies and stuffing the chiladas, take them and brown them a bit in the meat oil. Then proceed with the baking.

That'll do it, except cover with the sauce AND the cheese before baking. Enchiladas are super easy. Look through your spices, if you have any cayenne, cumin, red pepper or anything similar season the beef liberally when browning it.

I like to simmer the meat with about 1/3 to 1/2 of the sauce before putting the meat into the tortillas for final baking. I feel that the meat is way too bland otherwise. Simmering the meat with the sauce helps distribute the flavor all the way through the dish and not just the top.
