I like to try cooking new recipes but I always forget something when I go shopping. Also, I don't have a car so I usually go shopping once a week.

Are there any programs that allows me to punch in a database of recipes, choose the dishes I plan to cook for the week and automatically get a shopping list generated?

Or shall I write one myself? :)

Mwahahaha... actually, I would like a program like that, too... but I usually just break down and get a pad of paper.

Uh, just bring the recipes with you. They're lists in themselves you know.

Seriously though I think there's a program called MasterCook which might do the trick.

Yeah, but I'd rather have one that adds up so that if I need 2 cups of parsley, I make sure to buy enough of that. It'd definitely make my life a lot easier (I think). :)

Ok. I'll do some searches. Thanks.

Yeah, ideally, I'd have my iPAQ have the shopping list. I carry that sucker everywhere I go. :D

Cool.

I always wanted to start a P2P network for exchanging useful stuff like this in a more intuitive manner.

Imagine a recipe database shared by millions or billions of housewives and chefs worldwide! :Q
