Okay, here's the deal. In the past 10 days, I have had a total of 5 chats with Comcast, 5 phone calls, 1 tech guy come out, and 1 tech guy scheduled to come out this Thursday. When I was on the phone tonight, the guy said I should tell all the information I told him to the tech guy so that he can better address the issue.
Here in Sacramento, during peak hours, the ping for playing games is horrible (I'm talking 180-220). Now those of you who are gonna say "That's still better than dialup, stop bitching" can suck my balls and leave the thread now. If I wanted dialup, I would pay 10 bucks a month, not 45. I'm not sure how widespread this issue is but when I mentioned how on rainy days the picture comes through grainy, he said that for some reason that seems to be a huge problem in Central and Northern California.
If you are a Comcast subscriber living in California, I would like you to do me a favor.
Pick a server, any server. Trace route the server at 6 PM and 9 PM tomorrow, and give me the server IP you traced, the time, the information from the trace route, and where you are located in California. If you don't know how to do a trace route, read directions below. If you are unable to perform a trace route, can you just tell me the ping that you get in Steam or Xfire or wherever your server list is, post the IP, time of day, and your location.
For those doing trace routes, I highly recommend just screenshotting the results then upping it to Pics and posting a link here. Thanks a lot.
Directions on how to do a trace route:
1. Go to the start menu, click on "Run"
2. Type 'cmd' in the box and hit enter
3. When the Command Prompt comes up, type in 'tracert' then put a space after and the IP address. Make sure to take the port number off the end. (Example: "C:\tracert 127.0.0.1")
4. Screenshot and upload to Pics then post in this thread.

I really appreciate this. I want to try to get as many people as I can to do this over the next couple of days, hopefully most by tomorrow, so I can show the guy the results. If the mods feel so inclined, a two-day sticky would be appreciated.
Don't let Comcast make you pay full price if you're not getting full service! Thanks for helping a fellow ATer out.
Edit: In addition to doing those two times or around them, if you could, try to do one trace route during non-peak hours. And also, non-Californians, feel free to submit your results. Tomorrow I will post a list of servers to ping if you do not have any games but still would like to help me out.
Edit 2: Server list
Sacramento Server - 24.10.67.204
SoCal Server - 8.3.5.102
San Jose Server - 66.151.138.31
San Francisco Server - 24.4.13.59
Sacramento Server - 64.94.101.51
There's a preliminary list of 5. Tried to cover both northern, central, and southern California. I was looking for the Irvine ones but couldn't find any. That's all for now as I'm late for class, but I'm still pinging over the 100 mark right now, and there's no way this is peak.
