Inspired by this thread.

If I were to set something up, would you be interested in this? I would imagine we could keep it pretty simple. Just have a running thread or maybe a spreadsheet of who has what?

I'd be interested as long as postage wasn't too expensive. I could probably eventually make a simple website to keep the list of books and owners.

Seriously though, set it up. I have a lot of books (classics) I'd be willing to trade. We'd have to set shipping standards etc.

It looks like media mail would be less than $3 to ship a book from MI to CA. That sounds reasonable.

I generally do my book trading with local used book stores. I take in my old stuff for credit on new purchases. But if ATOT had a book exchange I'd certainly try it out. There are some series that are hard to find used.

Just for my own curiosity, not trying to bash the idea, why a book exchange regardless of postage when the library is free?

1. Some of us are too lazy to go to the library
2. Some of us are stuck in shit hold towns with really crappy libraries
3. I run out of ideas for books
4. No late fees

You do realize that was just a bad joke about southerners not being able to read, right?

They don't understand jokes either. It's all part of the same missing chromosome.

I'd be in for a Canadian chapter as well. Those Americans are usually too cheap to ship to us up here. :D
