ATOT Attendance in College Vow

Argh why am i in this position! I opened up the sample final exam for my test in 11 hrs. and about 1/4 of the stuff I've never seen before.

I hereby vow that next quarter, I will go to more than 25% of my classes.. in fact, I will go to at least 80% of my classes!

Who's with me?!

(this is also what i've said every finals week, and so far nothing has come up 🙁)

I don't see why so many people skip class so much. What else would you be doing for 50 minutes that makes it worth it to make your final harder since you didn't attend class?

If it's an easy class that you KNOW you can pass, fine. Not going to difficult classes like calculus or physics or something is asking for trouble.

I feel no remorse for those who don't attend classes.

I went to class but I didn't pay attention. argh.

I am having probs with my Structures class and I have a final on wed! Gotta study like hell tomorrow.

We all have problems with structures.

maybe someone can help us: whats the definition of second moment of inertia and how is it different from the first moment of inertia? What does it physically represent? I asked my TAs but they couldn't really answer. I can use hte formulas to solve problems but I don't know why I'm doing it.

i only showed up to calc 1/2 the time and still managed one of the highest grades in the class.

you can't blame failing on not going to class. in classes where the professors are poor, i hardly ever show up. i find teaching myself is much more efficient than trying to cut through the garbage some profs hand you.

I have no sympathy for people who don't go to class. Why bother going to college and paying for it if you're not going to go?

hahahahahahahahaha these kind of vows never work

i predict next quarter you will go to even less classes!

I always swore to myself at the beggining of each quarter that I would study before every lecture and keep up with the reading. After the 3 week I would go back to normal 😱

I've never missed a single class yet. I figure that if they're paying me to be here I might as well at least go to the classes. Besides, where else am I going to do my homework if not in class? 😉

My roomate worked it out and figured that were paying almost 100 dollars for each lecture, when you think about that it makes it harder to skip.

ok engineering people. lets create ankle bracelets that will produce a painful shock if a class is missed! sweet idea? 😉

I already go to all my classes. I missed one class this quarter.
Missed one class due to a funeral. Missed one other b/c teacher didn't show up for class, I left after 20 minutes, but he showed up 5 minutes later and taught.

heh, that normally happens in comp sci classes. had to take a chemistry course this year though, 3 guys (myself included, ~!5 or so girls)

I miss roughly 5-10 lectures a quarter, so thats like less then 10% of them if I am taking at least 3 classes. I still manage to get a 3.0 GPA and you know what, thats fine for me considering I am right on with the average engineering GPA here. I could do better with more effort, but it's a exponential curve. Alot more effort will only get me a slightly higher grade, so I just lay back and do what I have to 🙂
