Atom mini-ITX bundle being introduced at 42 pounds

Hmm.. couple this with $80 Istar Mini-ITX case, a cheap 2.5" SATA Laptop Drive ($40), a slim optical drive ($40), and 2GB DDR2 ($30), I can make a sub $300 mini PC to run OSX.

My quad-core is 65nm, and if I turn up my case fans, I can passively cool it at stock speed. The 945 chipset debuted in May of 2005, so there's no way it's 65nm, and probably not even 90nm. It was still ignorant of them to use such an old chipset with a brand new processor, if you ask me. I mean, honestly, what's the point of a 4-5 watt CPU, if it's matched up with a 15 or 20 watt chipset?😀

this is how ive been using internet at hotels which charge for the fee.

Believe me or not, but on a good signal with ATT, i get around 115kb/s download.

Not bad for ATT HSPDA. 😀


This is why i want a more greener, and faster phone. Something that will last longer then 3 hours when im using the internet. :[

Isn't PCI 133 MB/s ?, and Gigabit speed is around 100 MB/s....

So you could possible push gigabit speeds on a pci setup if nothing else is using the bus.

Here's a whole bunch of them. I use the top one, the Apex MI-100, mostly because it let's me use a "normal", full sized (and full speed) optical drive.

Incase anyones been wondering, ive been playing with laptop processors and laptop systems on desktop platform for quite some time. You cant get more power efficient then a lappy processor downvolted.

Im talking like 0.87Vcore Loaded on a T7300 @ 2.0ghz. 😱

Never shopped from there, but seems as if they're the manufacturer for a number of mini-ITX related products (like the PicoPSU) and they do sell to end users in single quantities, or in bulk for cheaper.

Darn, it looks like the stock Intel board has only 10/100 LAN. I was hoping they'd throw in gigabit LAN in there. It'll be perfect for small file and power efficient file server.

I still don't think intel can match Via or Amd's Goede technology as far as wattaged used yet though.

It seems like everyone is interested in this even though there have been other options for quite awhile. For example I have a C-7 Via with dual gigabit running IPcop, I have AMD Geode 1.7Ghz running Server 2008 in Raid-0 for my fileserver. I have been looking at an Phenom in mini itx as well. Eaither way my two boards I doubt use more than 100 watts together even with 2 hard drives and a few small fans in my 1U case.
