Who knows anything about this type of technology? I would like some general information (packet size, etc, etc), I was looking at various websites and I couldn't find it. :( I think it's 53 or 63 bits?

It's a fixed cell size of 53 BYTES. Not bits.

It has it's pluses and minuses. I'm really not sure what you're after here though.

Oh okay. No problem. We use ATM here to carry voice and data over the same circuit. Like I say,it has it's pluses and minuses. One minus is that due to the overhead (FIXED cell size) it can be wasteful of bandwidth. Fixed cell means: 1 byte of data still results in a 53 byte cell. Hence we net about 37Mbs from a DS-3 (44.736Mbs) due to the fixed cells.

Advantage: flexibility. :)

Jeez, lighten up man. It was geting late and I thought a little humor was in order. And it is hard to take offense from an insult from someone in Wisconsin. You people do understand humor yet? Or is that is higher up in human evolution.
