ATM, rain, waterfall, cpuidle, etc. Are any of these worth using ?

I use Rain, and it drops the CPU temp. a few degrees during idle states, which can't hurt...works fine for me...don't know much about the others.

For Athlon based units CPUCool blows them out of the water. Most of those progs have not changed since the K6 was a hot new CPU. If you havent tryed the latest version of CPUCool and are using one of these others to cool an Athlon I suggest you give it a try.

The effectiveness of Rain, et.al. also depends on your OS. Their function is built in to Windows NT and/or Win2K which makes them irrelevant.
