atm legality question

does an ATM machine have to stipulate that it will charge you money for a transaction (outside of local bank of course)

i have made multiple transactions with NO disclaimer from the ATM or anything and have been slapped with 5 $2.00 charges on my bank statement.

doesnt the bank have to notify you what you are doing will cost you money? im not trying to fight it, but i would just like to know for the sake of arguement.

thanks

Does the ATM charge you or your own bank?
If the ATM is charging you without any (even the littlest bit of text somewhere on the machine voids your claim) then you have a shot
If it's your bank then read your EFT agreement (electronic funds transfer, the basis of ATMs)
One way to tell is if your bank statement reads "$22.00" for a $20 withdrawal - then the ATM is charging you. If you have an extra charge, then it's your bank.
