ATLAS at home

So...anyone using this project?

I've updated BOINC (with the VirtualMachine download), joined ATLAS, and thus far...nothing. This is my first VM application, do I need to do something to activate the VM or anything else 'special/different' I need to do to get WU's?

Using Windows 7 Pro. All the BIOS setttings are GO for VM's.

ATLAS Simulation needs 18.18MB more disk space. You currently have 4273.35 MB available and it needs 4291.53 MB

Oh. I see. Uhm..... Wow. That's...asking a lot, but I've got half a TB free.

I'm beginning to see why. All tasks running and progress bar advancing steadily, but processor at about 3% load. Should have aborted before I came to work...but they were up to the mid90%.

I installed the VM client on my computer just to test out this project a few months ago. After I finally got it to give me some work (making a huge disk for the VM), I let BOINC run the tasks for a full week. They were all still sitting at 3% completed, so I killed them and haven't tried again yet.

I've got a 6 WUs running on my 3930K and they are using about 20 GB RAM. I have 32 GB total on that machine. We'll see if they finish.

Looks like the WUs are doing ok. I've finished 7 so far so TA finally has first points on Atlas@home.😎

And you're no doubt doing this in Linux. Hmm. Me wonders if that's the difference? At any rate, WooT! you've got another TeAm 1st place! 🙂

Yes, linux. but only 5 tasks are running. The others are partially complete and show a message: Scheduler wait: VM job unmanageable, restarting later.

I gave up and moved back to edges.

Too many odd messages and one WU hung for 16 hours at 93%. Also ppd was low. 😵
