Went to the ABG today with the fam to see the Dale Chihuly "Chihuly in the Garden" exhibit today. Decided to put the A70 on ultra-mega setting and see what happened. Took about 60 pics and here are the best of the bunch for your viewing pleasure. I've smashed them down a bit for the sake of not raping dwell's b/w but I can offer up the full-sized versions if anyone wants them. :)

Fountain sculpture

Various types of coleus

Another fountain.

Abstract-ish shot of glasswork

Floating glasswork.

More floaters.

Frogfoot?

Blue bowls.

Lilly pads.

Orchid macro.

More glass.

Definitely worth the price of admission for those of you in the Atlanta area. :)

Were the glass sculptures tethered in the pond or did they float freely? They look pretty cool along with the glass lily type things.

The onion-shaped ones were floating (but tethered so they didn't wander too much).

Great pics Fausto! My favorite is the abstract shot of the green glass. The pic of the orchid is especially great too. :)

Thanks! :)

The abstract was a spur-of-the-moment shot (I kinda had to crawl up one of the exhibits to get it), but turned out really well. Currently my desktop.

Chihuly is from about 20 miles south of my hometown -- he has some interesting glasswork schools he's put up in the region. Beautiful art. :D

Did you happen to see the huge chandelier, I think it was yellow? It looked awesome when they showed it on the news a couple weeks ago. Did you happen to get a picture of it?

Yep. I think this is what you're talking about.
Yeah that's the one, but they said you really need to see it at night when it gets all lit up. Great picture though! Thanks, I wanted to see what it looked like again.

They're doing the nighttime light-up tomorrow night IIRC.

If I didn't have school and work to deal with I'd go and check it out. I see the billboard on my way in to work every morning for the exhibit and I think about it just about every time I drive by.

Hey, if anyone makes it out there tonight and happens to get a picture of the chandelier all lit up, please post it. I'd like to see what it looks like at night with the lights on it. Thanks!
