Atkins goes down!

haha, FUVK THEM.

thanks to them, they drove the price of eggs up above $1 for a dozen last summer. now, I can get a dozen for 50 cents.

Good for them, the diet was unhealthy and idiots pretended to follow it without even understanding what those evil "carb" thingies were.

Yeah, I love it how people know the general idea of it ("oh, you just don't eat carbs?") and do it on their own with no professional evaluation or assistance.

Nah, there are plenty of low-carbies..... probably just bad management, disconnected with employees and their own subdepartments..

I wouldn't be surprised if the major loss is due to their food products. They were never favorably compared to other products on the low-carb newsgroup.

Good riddance, too many morons following their crap while the real secret to losing weight is to simply burn calories off through, get this, exercise.

That diet didn't work. (Not long term anyway)

When will people figure out that you need to exercise and watch what you eat?

Might want to educate yourself on the subject that you preach...

The Atkins plan is very specific how it outlines exercise and portion control.

How well did it work for you? Haven't you been on it for the last 2 years?

I learned alot of good eating habits from it. I no longer drink sugared soda (actually I really don't eat processed sugar at all), and now I have whole grain carbs rather than white flour carbs.

Whether you like the diet or not. You can still pick up some good eating habits from it. Good carbs vs. bad carbs, not no carbs.

Except it's nonsense, expensive nonsense. Eat what you want, just burn your calories off. I eat my cheeseburgers and cake but don't gain a pound. Might have to be due to the 1 hour vigorous bike ride I do daily, 350 days a year. Before I took on exercise, I too was a fatty looking for an easy way to lose a pound. Doesn't work that way. Losing weight is a lifetime committment, not some scam diet plan.

And just how likely is that one hour vigorous bike ride for the masses? Answer: hardly.

That's why diet modification is about the only way most lazy people are going to do weight management.

Whether people should exercise more is not the point. That's a given. But in the real world, it ain't happening. So, anything that can be done to allow for people to continue their desires for gourging while preventing the poundage will have a chance at success.

Yep. My parents were guilty of this. They didn't even now what they were supposed to eat and were trying the diet. I explained that if you don't follow the diet exactly, you would actually GAIN weight because your body wouldn't enter the proper state. They were eating things like brown rice, crackers, oatmeal cookies...*sigh*. I sat down and showed them what they were supposed to eat for the first two weeks and they dropped it 😀

The diet does work, it's just very difficult to stay on, and if you don't follow it exactly the foods you eat can do more harm than good.

I'm going to McDonalds this morning on them - and finding out what the highest carb thing they have is - and ordering that.
