ATITool Question

When I overclock my 9800 Pro using ATITool it resets back to stock speeds everytime I restart. Is there any way to prevent this? It's getting on my nerves.

When you set the overclocked speed save it as a profile and then set that profile as the default. I'd suggest downclocking it a bit in 2D and using the overclocked speed as the 3D default.
EDIT: If you want I can upload screenshots of the settings on my Mobility 9600.

Or you can download omega's drivers from www.omegacorner.com and it comes with a tool called RadLinker. RadLinker lets you set the BIOS speed from a click of a button. Optimized drivers, too.

You can use radlinker with cats too, google it. Omega's are iq optimized btw and nothing you can't do with cats anyway.

I don't completely understand what you mean with the 2D/3D thing. Does that mean it will use different speeds depending on what applications are running?

ugh...im silly...sorry for wasting your time with this thread. There were options to select which profile to load on start-up staring me in the face. But MDE....I still don't understand what you meant so please explain 🙂

That's exactly what I mean. When you're in Windows it can use a lower speed and when you fire up a game it'll switch to the overclocked speed.

Does that prolong the life of the video card or what is the reason for doing something like that?
Just to have it run a bit cooler. The main reason I'm doing that is because it's a laptop, but the 9800 Pros run hot so it can't hurt. It's totally up to you.
