It works, and many developers have been creating their games using GeForce6 cards because they were they only cards that could do the job.

I dont consider a broken purevideo processor as a feature on the 6 series
Works just fine on my 6600GT.

We havent even had dual core CPU's for a year, WTF are you smoking?
You do realize that this also works with dual cpu, which has been around for decades.

You must be in bliss, because to me a hard lauch is product available on the day they make the announcement.

Although, I'm sure you are happy running your x1600's in crossfire.

They were available, even before Dec. 1.

You consider the 51MB GTX "available"? Hmm...

I dont recall seeing one 512MB GTX at my local CompUSA, or a 256MB for that matter. Yet they had the XT the day of its release. Thats a hard launch, not just online.

OK, but how long have NV's drivers been optimized for dual cpu's? Last I heard, it was only since few months ago.

SLI - year later - Crossfire

Purevideo - year later - AVIVO
Dual Core Driver - year later - Dual Core Driver

Hopefully in a year ATI will have a hard launches :p

Nvidia's Dual-core driver has only officially been released for a few months (i think 3 months). You said SM3.0 was out a year earlier then ATI. Name ONE game where the 6000 Series can play at SM3.0 smoothly without lag on a game released one year ago. Your saying ATI is a year behind Nvidia, what about the 90nm process that ATI is using now? What about the memory controller, which would allow it also use GDDR4? What about the new 512bit ring bus memory?

How many X1600's did they have? Who has them? Surely you are not saying ATI is a shining example of never having "limited availability"

ATI's dual core driver has not been officially released yet. SM3.0 worked just fine on Far Cry using a 6800. NVIDIA was actually the first to market with a 90nm part. The 512bit ring bus is internal only and offers little or no performance benefit. Does it use GDDR4?

ATI's driver is released every month, it should be released in a few days. IIRC, Far Cry only uses SM3.0 with the 64bit patch or none at all (not sure since i don't play/have Far Cry). How was Nvidia the first to market with a 90nm when they never even released a 90nm part. You said ATI was one year behind, so i said Nvidia WILL be one year behind since ATI has a 90nm part, 512bit ring bus, and a memory controller that's able to use GDDR4 for next generation. This has nothing to do with performance but to just say that ATI is not 1 year behind Nvidia when Nvidia would HAVE TO migrate to these technology soon. So, your statement of saying ATI is one year behind Nvidia is WRONG! Both companies have different parts of technology that is slower or faster. Don't be biased to only one company

NVIDIA has 3 90nm parts.
GeForce 6100/6150
Geforce Go (G72)

and a third that I keep forgetting. If I'm bored later I will look it up. It may be a quadro part.
