I too read this, but wasn't going to post it...since I always get blamed for being theinq's biatch by chizow and friends...

Edit: As for the article, I have no doubt that ATi will counter NV35 ASAP. The big question is who will release their next new core first? R4XX or NV40?

Damnit. I wish I had seen this post 30 secs ago cuz I would have asked Anand while I was talkin' with him if it was true. Now he has to go to a meeting :(

I always did find it funny how chizow makes fun of people that blindly support ATi when he's always blindly supporting nVidia. Talk about the pot calling the kettle black.

OK I dunno if this is new news or old news but all I can think is BFD .... RV200, RV300, RV350, RV360 ..... EW YAY! a 1/10th of a generation upgrade. So what it can run 20MHz faster? 5C cooler? An extra 5 FPS in UT2K3??

Edit: I'd also like to add the uInq is f'in clueless.
Besides the graphic chips, ATI will enter the integrated chipset market during the second half of this year, competing for the market share with VIA, Intel, SiS, and ALi in the P4 chipset market. ATI's chipsets will also be manufactured by TSMC and UMC.
What do they think the A3 and A4 chipsets are? I just built a system a few wks ago based on a ATi chipset on a Sapphire board.

Powered By ATi Integrated Products
Sapphire ATi Based MoBos

Yeah, maybe its time to give it up. Never really thought much about it before.

Any good? I see them on the shelves all the time but nobody ever buys them, they look lonely down at the end of the aisle by themselves.

It's really not bad, it performs about the same as a ATi 7000 series card, which was perfect from my brother-in-law. I got the A3-M275 for $105 CDN. And when he decides that's underperforming then I can still slap in another AGP card. It's a pretty small board like 9" by 10" or something like that so it's almost small enough for a SFF or HTPC.

Don't even put Colgate in the same sentence as Crest. There's no comparison.

Colgate vs Crest. It's one of those FMCG battles the marketing industry loves to love, like Coke vs Pepsi or Big Mac vs Whopper. Procter & Gamble's Crest spent 30 years as America's favourite toothpaste before being unceremoniously kicked from the top spot in 1988 by Colgate-Palmolive's Colgate. In fact the battle is more than a little uneven. Colgate has long been the undisputed champion in the global market, the #1 toothpaste brand worldwide with market leadership in more than 170 countries and global sales of around $2bn. The US remained its weak spot, the only significant market where it was barred leadership for more than 30 years. All that changed with the launch of Colgate Total in 1998.

It only seems to make sense that ATi is ready to deal with the NV35. However, at the same time, the source is not what I would call reliable. I hope they do release it; more competition is always better for the market.

I'll defend the Chiz since he isn't here. He's always got my back before. He's no more or less a fanboy IMO than anyone else. If you just bought an Intel computer and you like how it runs, does that make you a fanboy? What if you buy an ATI card, have problems, take it back and get an nVidia card that works. Does that make you an nVidia fanboy? IMO, no. You just like (and recommend) what works for you.

RUN CHIZ, RUN! I CAN ONLY HOLD THEM OFF SO LONG!
