ATI X850 details - expected in retail jan,2, 2005

I fear these will be hard to find for a while.
First of all you can hardly even get the X800 XT PE anywhere. And it was paper launched months ago.

Also they are supposed to be available Jan 2, 2005
Yet there are no reviews samples out..
Also they are launching it right AFTER Christmas? thats not good market sense.

nonsense . . . ati won't repeat their supply mistakes of this year. . . . they'd lose their partners (and customers)😛

The XT-PE will never be available in quantity - it was a "place holder" for these new GPUs (to compete with the ultra). 😉

ANYWAY, these new GPUs are gonna be shortly eclipsed (less than 6 months) by the r520. 😛

nobody believe me when i posted this MONTHS AGO . . . . told ya so. 😛

looks like the Inq is right . . . again.

C'mon ATi. Give a us a new core already.
Yep . . . no shader 3.0 . . .

i guess it isn't "necessary" . . . . until this Spring.😉

Now Insomniak, you have to remember ATI didn't actually invent the R300 core, they bought it from a company called ArtX. So they've been spending 2002...and 2003....and 2004.... and now part of 2005 trying to improve upon it!

Sheesh. Don't rush them! Companies with good tech to buy don't grow on trees!

ATi didn't buy R300 from ArtX, as it's still quite similar to R200 (in that the leap from PS1.4 to PS2.0 supposedly wasn't that big). They obviously did well to buy ArtX, tho, as the two companies combined did a pretty good job with R300.

Sorry for intruding on your artistic license.
