Yeah, the GS inbetween the vanilla and GT.

so i will get the 6800xt over ther x800gto?
6800xt http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814150157

only con i can find on the 6800xt is the lack of a upgradeable cooler
whcih doesnt mean much because its ben yrs since ive never upgraded my 9600se's cooler

btw my 32 bit computer isnt ****** so..
it would make a difference
athlon 3000 oc to 2.36
1gb from 166-182 (d channel)

so..
it would make hella difference with each one but if the 6800xt is a lil bit better and cheaper than 6800xt it is
but right now i have ati drivers 🙂

I'm not sure I understand what you're saying completely, but IMO, it's a better choice to get the x800gto, since you might have more luck with unlock/OC. Is there a reason you're going for the 6800xt?

The 6800XT is even slower than a 6800 regular.
It goes like this from slowest to fastest of the 6800 series:

6800XT
6800nu
6800GS
6800GT
6800Ultra

6800GS and 6800GT are damn near identical in performance. The GT edges it out sometimes.

So to answer your original question, the equivalent opponent for a X800GTO is the slightly slower 6800nu or the faster 6800GS. There is really nothing that hits X800GTO on the nvidia side closer than those, for the 68xx series. Not that I know of anyway.

GS is supposed to be around 10% or so slower than the GT, but the GS came out as a stopgap and holiday product long after the GT came out. NVidia probably used unused GT cores in the GS and crippled it a little, but they still overclocked extremely well.
