ATI x800 xt and still unsupported option in farcry

I went ahead and dropped a fortune on the ATI x800 xt video card and plopped it into my box. I got the latest driver and then installed farcry. Under the video options the cartoon and improved graphics options are not supported.

What is the deal? What could be the problem?

My brother owns a piece-of-crap box and a ATI 9800 pro and his supports the graphics options.
