Hi all,

I've just installed the above card in my homebuilt beast, and I am very confused as to how the Guide+ software works. I'd like to RTFM but there is none. So, I have questions:

1. Does TV have to be PLAYING on the monitor for the software to record the appropriate future shows?

2. Does the Guide+ software have to be running to do the above, or does it run in the background?

3. Should I have a program running in the upper left hand box? I have the words NO TV TUNER in a black box, rather than any picture.

4. When I check "record" in to right click menu on a show, I assign it a directory and it saves a file, but when I come back later the show has not been recorded.

Could someone outline the steps briefly, along with what needs to be running, for me to get this going? I can't belive I'm this dense.......

1.The scheduler will open MMC and start the TV for recording.
2.The Guide+ software doesn't need to be open when it records and it won't start up with a scheduled recording.
3.Yes, if it's set up properly, a TV display will appear where it reads "No TV Tuner"
4.Is the TV application working?

First, make sure the TV application is properly working in MMC.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply.

The TV application is working. Anything I can test to see that it's working "properly"?

When I click on the Schedule tab in MM, I do get "An invalid arguement was encountered"

With the TV application up and running, open Guide+ and it should jump up into the viewing window in Guide+

I'll check MMC's scheduler, I haven't used MMC for scheduled recordings in a long time(or through Guide+) due to the lack of background recording, and the scheduler itself is a POS (at least it was)

Doing as you suggested results in the TV application opening, but staying overlayed on the Guide+ screen....does not move anywhere. I want to schedule recording using Guide+, but if I can't is there another piece of software that would allow this functionality (without cost)?

I reinstalled MMC, but I'm not getting anywhere....:)
