Hey guys,

Building a rig for my friend, but I've been out of the knowledge loop for so long that I need some quick advice. Of the two (negligible price diff), which of these cards is a better all-purpose card, and why?

The contenders:

ATI X300

vs.

ATI Radeon 9550

Thank you much,

Jacob

X300 ... 325/200DDR (400)
9550 ... 250/200DDR (400

Same core. Some 9550's are 64bit memory bus instead of 128bit - avoid.

X300 is PCI-E. 9550 is AGP.

9550SE are 64bit, definetly be careful when purchasing.. you want the 128bit version

9550 is a great budget card.. its basically a toned down 9600, but with the same core and capabilities of a 9600 if you get 3rd party drivers (i use omega)..

my friend got one in his new computer

i checked the ram, think its 4ns stuff so bumped that up to 250Mhz, (ddr500) and well the core just flies....its well past 9600pro speeds
