I ordered an ATI brand X1900 XT from Ncix.com

and they sent me exactly that, but they sent me a cross fire edition or capable card.

Aren't cross fire editions a step up and more expensive than the regular x1900xt? or is it all 1 card.... and i'm just confusing my self with terms lol..

I always thought there were regulars... and cross fire editions... and the cross fires being alot more expensive..

the crossfires ARE more expensive. the only difference is they are clocked slightly lower (in the x1900 case its clocked at x1900xt speeds instead of xtx) and u only get to use one DVI output. This does however make it easier for you to go crossfire later as it is very unlikely u will see many crossfire edition x1900's for sale within the next few mths with ATI already phasing them out. You WILL however be able to easily find a used x1900xt and go crossifre without a hitch :)

No.

All X1900XTs are "Crossfire Ready"

Doesn't make them a CF master card though.
