ATI TV wonder VE vs HAUPPAUGE WINTV-GO

planning to get a tv card with some video capture capabilites and these two cards keep showing up as possiblities.
I dint need a professional card will just use it to play around with family camcorder movies and mostly to watch tv on my computer.
I dont have any experience with tv or video in cards so advice will be aprreciated.

these cards can be obtained (price watch) for around 50 to 60 dollars shipped.
which card would you recomend?
I have radeon 8500, 1800 xp, soyo dragon, TB Santa cruz.

Not willing to spend to much I actually cruised the for sale forum and these babies sell like hot cakes for around 30 to 40 dollars and could not find someone actively selling one.

Do any of you have any strong convictions on either card
Thanks

I used to have a hauppage wintv-go card and the drivers for xp sucked. Video capture in xp was almost non existant. I got an aiw 7500 and love the hardware capture of this card.

just to make sure, that it's nice Hardware but it still does software captures. ATI does not do Hardware encoding or captues yet, but will in the next version of cards.

If stereo is important to you, you don't want either of those cards. Here are a couple links from VCDhelp's capture card comparison with user's input.

WinTV-Go
TV Wonder-Ve

as with all multimedia cards, the drivers for both are flakey. I don't understand why nobody can get really good drivers, but they don't. ATI TV has worked for me, but I have no clue how it would do under 2k or xp, worked good for 98.
