ATI TV wonder Win2k Video capture

I have ATI TV wonder (PCI). It runs well in Win2k, but the problem is that, it doesn't do proper video capture. It says, "this is beta version and video capture not supported". I ignore the dialog box and try to record something in avi, mpeg2 etc, but none of them seem to capture any audio. Video can be played back using mediaplayer, but there is no audio. I checked all the cables and everything, seems like a software problem. any help will be appreciated. thanks. is there any free video recording software available to use with this card?

I dont know what it's compatibility is in win2k, however, i can tell you that if the driver is a VFW (thats video for windows) driver than it will work with many very good tv and video captuer apps such as virtualdub and DTV. if it's the WDM driver than your limited to what came with the card.

double click on the "volume" on your systray. goto options, properties, click on recording, and make sure that line-in is selected.

are you recording TV or an external source. If your recording TV can you hear the sound from TV.

thanks for the posts, yes it is a WDM driver.
I can hear the TV sound very well, I followed that procedure of checking the "line in" option already. but doesn't seem to help. I can listen to the sound when I am recording, but when I play it back, there is no sound at all. I wonder why this happens.

is this when recording TV or an external source like a vcr or camcorder. If it's an external scource just get a stereo Y connector from radio shack and plug the sound directly into your sound card and make sure that line-in is selected.

also try selecting "what you hear".

Niccolt, I don't get the sound recorded both from TV tuner and also while connecting my camcorder. I wonder if anyone has the original cd that came with the ati tuner card. my cd got scratched 🙁 and I cannot find a replacement software now.
