is there some sort of trick im missing? I'm using DScaler.

I know it's a cheap card, but the quality is horrible. i mean awful. 1/2 the channels are so bad I can't stand to watch them.

is there some sort of issue with these, or is this normal performance?

I have one. It works, no frills, mono sound.

I have one. It also works (though CPU usage is wicked high when timeshifting in BTV). Quality was fine with an adequate source (although I wasn't using the tuner, just the RCA in!) I eventually decided to go with dual PVR150s, for hardware encoding (so I could use DScaler/ffdshow on my output while timeshifting/recording).
